I'm worried about my Flame hawkfish. Last couple days it's been jamming itself sideways under a barnacle, spending most of the day under there. I don't see it swimming anywhere else. It's breathing seems rapid, but it's always been fast, ever since I got it, but perhaps not quite this rapid. Hasn't eaten in almost a week that I have seen. Colour still looks mostly normal though, a little faded, but nowhere near what it does at night.

I will add the tank is undergoing copper treatment for Velvet. Today is day 31 of 42 (6 weeks) of treatment. I ramped it up to 2ppm over a week. I unfortunately being a Canadian, greatly extended shipping times and living a several hour drive from my lfs, have access to minimal medications.

The other two fish, Marine Betta and Cleaner wrasse are healthy as can be.

Hi Hugh..... Did you ever get a response or figure out what is happening with your hawkfish? I have one displaying similar behavior and all other fish seem fine.

No I didn’t. Unfortunately it ended up dying shortly after this post.

I do hope that isn’t the case with yours!
