Flame wrasse with cloudy eye

My flame wrasse has a cloudy eye condition. I'm thinking some type of bacterial infection? I'm far from a fish disease expert. I was thinking maybe metroplex to treat? Figured I'd get some counsel from you amazing disease experts before I start trusting my own ideas.

Agree, it does look like a bacterial eye infection. Metroplex and kanaplex I believe for a broader spectrum.

Usually one eye is from an injury. It probably scraped itself in one of their classic sprints around the tank or into the tank lid. Never the less, for popeye of any kind Erythromycin aka Maracyn (not Maracyn 2) usually works the best.

He's had this for a little while. I originally was thinking it was an injury. How long does it usually take to heal?

Once you start treating with meds, and fish are notoriously slow responding, it can take 10-14 days to see improvement. Remember the med doesn't "cure" the condition, it is there to help the fish's immune system to do the work needed. So pristine water conditions, high quality foods with vitamins, etc. really help the fish to overcome the condition. Beautiful fish!

^^ Agree with this; sometimes a LPS sweeper can cause this as well (look where he sleeps at night.)
