Nice, I had one that lasted 3 years. I had to give it up due to moving to another state. 9 years (WOW), Whatever you are doing it is spot on.

I have had them up to 9+ years before losing them to a tank disaster.

Unfortunately mine just passed. Just shy of 10 years in my care. Stopped eating one day and gone within that week.

I know there are African and Brazilian species. Which one is yours and is that yellow background color due to age or just a different species than mine…My fish has a orange background and it’s a African Flameback ( pardon the quality, but you get the picture)

It was definitely orange, I could never get the orange to come out in photos. Very hard fish to get pictures of for me for some reason. Was sold to me as an African flameback. Honestly don’t know the difference between the two and actually 3 now that there’s a fireball.
