Flare Nozzle Alternative?

Hey, I am going to add a 5 gal sump to my 8 gal nano. I'm a bit confused because nobody sells Flare Nozzles around here, is there any alternatives to a Flare Nozzle? Or should I just put a 90 degree pvc elbow in the tank?
