I've had a flasher wrasse (ordered off divers den) in QT for 3-4 weeks. He's been through copper and is now undergoing prazi/metro treatment. There have been multiple times where it looks like I'm going to lose him...he will lie sideways on the bottom of the tank or in a PVC pipe and not move at all. won't eat either. probably 24 hours or so later, he's up and swimming around. looks perfectly healthy and attacks all food that goes into the tank. any ideas or anyone have similar experiences?

Did you notice this behavior soon after adding medication or has it been fairly persistent?

Any other symptoms? Is this happening right when the lights come on in the morning?

I had clowns that had velvet that did something similar. No external symptoms until one day they were covered in dots. But before that I'd see them laying on the ground gasping and then next day be fine

No other symptoms. he did have some white poop a couple days ago (why i started prazi and metro) but now its brown. nothing with shock of lights or anything

2 times I remember specifically was:
1- two weeks or so after the therapeutic level of copper was reached. wrasse acted like he was dying so i quickly removed copper by doing a WC. bounced back fine
2- yesterday. i redosed the second round of prazi and this morning found him lying on the bottom of the tank. now hes fine and swimming around. he was fine with the first round of prazi

Sounds like it might be from the medication. If it happens the day you add it. Wrasses are sensitive to copper.

If anyone else has insight that would be great, but I just think it's medication that stressed him

I've had a similar experience with a yellow choris wrasse a few years back. He was in qt with copper dosed in the tank, wrasses are super sensitive to a lot of medications so since then I dose at a lower concentration when quarantining wrasses
