Balance is a product by aquavitro claiming to raise pH without affecting calcium or kh

If balance does what it says, what would stop you from getting a pH probe and auto correcting using a dosing pump to flatline it?

Does anyone do this?
What would be the downsides of this e.g cause any imbalances etc?

This is a total crap claim by Brightwell and aquavitro. It is simply a high pH alkalinity supplement.

The best one can say about it is that they are chemically ignorant.

A cynic might claim it is intentional misleading, since they sell the same material (hydroxide) as an alk supplement in other of their products (kalkwasser).

Thanks for the reply, that’s exactly what I was thinking, it seems too good to be true. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard somewhere that it’s not even possible to raise ph without kh

That is correct, it is not possible with an additive. It is possible by driving out CO2 somehow.
