During my water change this morning I noticed two white blobs on the base of my torch coral. I pulled them off and in my limited opinion they looked like a type of flatworm.

can anyone tell me what I am dealing with?

they are not super small, the larger on is about the size of my pinky fingernail.

when in doubt,take it out

There are some "ghost" flat worms that are clear and eat pods.

Although torn up it's hard to tell. But it isnt a brown or red so I wouldnt worry.

The ghosts are harmless

also think white sponge

They popped off super easy and where flat and firm. They hadn’t been there long. No more than a day because I have looked at the torch very carefully each day since I got it about a week ago

Keep an eye on it! I have had flatworms that lived in the head of a torch and almost killed it. That or I almost killed the torch getting the flat worm out. Either way no bueno keep checking. They get huge and can squeeze almost anywhere and are quite gross. They remind me of the blood worms we used as bait in Maine. Less hypodermic needle teeth though.

Just looks like sponge to me, pretty normal to see this on torch bases. A lot people like to take a tooth brush and clean them up, optional of course.

Do sponges have a translucent appearance with a bunch of brown spots throughout?

So, how do I treat for those? Or iS it a manual removal only
You can bait these guys using feeder clams in a fish trap checking often late at night .

I found something almost identical on my torches a couple months ago... Didn't think much of it... Then all of a sudden torches looked unhappy... Looked into it some more... Discovered POLYCLAD flat worms.... Dipped all my torches... And easily 3-4 fell off each... Torches are flourishing now. Give it a try! Sorry forgot to mention to maybe scrub the bases for eggs left behind.

What dip method and product did you use

I just let it sit in ReVive Coral Cleaner... Nothing too fancy... I think 15-20 minutes...they should just fall right off or even just twirl the Torch back and forth a bit and they come off... I tried again a few weeks later and nothing else fell off.
