Flatworms in refugium/media basket need I.d

hi Reefers,

Please help I.d what type of flat worm this is and if I need to worry about my sps . Also I only see them in the top part of the innovation media basket so I siphoned what I saw out. Also I don't see any negative effects on my corals they are all thriving . I'm not sure how they got in there they just popped up a few days ago I actually thought it was just pieces of algae floating.

Red/brown are photosynthetic. They're not very aesthetically pleasing and can envelope your corals, blocking them from capturing their much needed light beams. If you want to get rid of them there is flatworm exit, but there are inherit risks w/ the toxins the FW release upon death.

Some folks just get a known predator (coris wrasse is one I think), and let nature help regulate.

I have a sixnine wrasse i have yet to see any In my display. Maybe he's taking care of them or maybe they are just in my refugium.

If your refugium is small enough to make this strategy manageable, I've had success just sucking the visible ones out with a feeding pipette/turkey baster type device once per day or so to keep the population in check. I found that a month or two of doing that eventually caused the population to crash and disappear -- but I'm not sure if that is something that is always repeatable.
