I found a few flatworms in the sump..they are brownish and the tail is split but i do not see a red dot like is shown on the computer. please tell me these are not AEFW. I have suctioned all of the visible ones out

the split tail gives it away that they are the photosynthetic planaria,,no worries get a small wrasse and siphon out the ones you see.

like an acro with the light shining through. if you look closely at some acros you will see vein like lines. AEFW mimic these lines and look a lot like acro skin. they are also mostly transparent helping them match the color of the acro

aefw are small clearish brown and mimic the skin of an acro very well and usually do not leave a colony,,,,unless its for another colony

Awesome im so relieved. I've found them only in my sump where there is obviously no acros and they are brown and have split tails. I do not want to add a wrasse as it's only a 40b and I don't have room for anymore fish. I siphoned out almost if not all of them. Do you think I will be okay?

I have used FlatwormXit in the past to help clear them up when I found some a few years ago. But to help prevent an infestation of flatworms, I dip all my new corals in an iodine bath like Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure before introducing them into my tank. Understandably I get a bit paranoid about introducing things like flatworms into my display tanks.

Flatworm eXit will kill them and not hurt anything in the tank, especially if you have low numbers of them. Just do a 5g water change an hour or two after. Its pretty much harmless unless you have a huge population of flat worms.

Flatworm exit works, but may not kill them permanently. Worth a try at least. Get a six line wrasse also, but be aware it will eat everything else down there too!
