Anthias experts,

At first I was set on 5 x resplendent anthias for my 180g. Now I'm considering buying a single female each of these "docile" types.

Do you think they will get along? even if added at seperate times?

I'm interested in hearing ppls experiences that have done this. My hope is I can get the best of both worlds: They will loosely shoal with one another and privide that camaraderie + benefit from additional splashes of color.

Those should all work together, but IMO a group of one species looks better than five seperate individuals of different species.
I also initially thought so. But when I looked at flavogattus side by side with Resplendent at my LFS, I started thinking the resplendant looked plain.

Would they generally shoal together, similar to 5 of the same species?

Dispar are the easiest of the ones you mention. I’ve kept the other three species together and they get along fine. Princess can be problematic feeders in the presence of more aggressive fish. I currently only have a quartet of resplendent.

Ca1ore,

Yes I recall reading of when you got the resplendents. So do you think, in general of course, that these different species would swim together?

Mine never really did

The rezplendents stay together but the flavos and princess did not.
