Hi all,

I have a babylon snail that is upside down since 2 days.
He is alive because whenever I try to right him or burry him, he goes back to the upside down position.
I have other babylon snails that are acting normally.
I have hermit crabs which didn't eat him yet, so he is not sick or dead.

Can you please tell me what to do ?
Should I get him out ? I don't have a QT for info.

These can right themselves so if its not or keeps doing it something is wrong. Have you seen it eating? And what is the little shell near it? Could it be a predatory snail?

Everytime I right him, he goes back to the upside down state few minutes later.
I didn't see him eat tbh, his cousins usually comes at night because I fees the fishes before sunset.
The shell close to it is a dwarf cerith snail. They are extremely peaceful.

Have you been feeding it? Babylon snails are meat-eating scavengers, so does it have enough meaty food to eat?
He didn't eat again :anxious-face-with-sweat: I gave him a shrimps in contact with his skin, he righted himself but didn't ty to eat while the whole crew came running to eat.
Is he hosting a parasite or sick ? Should I keep him untill he dies ?

I'd assume it's dying from something, but I can't say what. I'd try offering small pieces of clam if you can, but I would expect it die if it doesn't start eating soon.

I'd imagine one snail dying wouldn't be an issue in a tank in the vast majority of cases, so I'd probably leave it.

That said, I'll second twentyleagues' question - what is the little snail next to it? Is it a hitchhiker, or a snail you purchased?

Me too, I know he will die soon but I can't accept it, such a pain.
The other snail is a dwarf cerith. Hitchiking from macroalgae taken from the sea. They only have benefits, so I kept them
