The Flipper scraper reviews are always 5-star, anyone else less impressed? I have a problem... The dry-side felt pad quickly peels-up along the front edge, exposing the glue backing - which then gets all over the tank glass! Flagged this to Flipper and they sent a couple of replacement felt pads - but getting the old felt off is impossible, the glue is way too strong and nothing i've done removes it! Anyone have any tips to do this?

Like was mentioned heat it up and rub to remove the glue. What I did to make sure the replacement pad stuck to the handle without the corners lifting was to give it a blast with the hair dryer on the hot setting and then press it down with all my might on the kitchen counter top and do a wax on wax off motion to make sure it stuck without lifting.

I have the flipper nano and honestly it sucks, the felt works ok for day to day scum but any thing else doesn't touch it, and the metal scrapper side same thing along with it never wanted to flip, granted I have the nano but still, only reason I bought is cause I thought the logo looked decent while on your tank but basically trash

I have used on different set ups all 3 sizes of Flipper scrubbers and did at first struggle to remove pads I wanted to replace
Never tried dry heat to remove glue residue, but did find that if I left it to soak in hot water to soften the glue I was able to remove it much easier
(same method I used to remove labels from food jars I wanted to keep for other purposes really)

I have also heard that soaking in acetone (distilled white vinegar) was an effective solution for one person to remove glue residue after peeling off the pad (yes I also searched internet to see if issue if there was any better ideas than mine )

Heat it with a blow dryer

I have the max and it does an OK- not thourough job on a 135 gallon. I should have kept my tunze strong !

So... Purchased a Tunze Strong. This thing is 1000 times better than the Flipper! I think people like the dazzle of the 'new' companies with flash marketing, Tunze just keep doing their thing.
