Water change done. Going to replace our house carpet with vinyl plank flooring soon. I'm soooooo done with carpet!

Should be very good around the tank because it will be water proof!

Wow, time flies when your busy! Water change done for the week.

Had the place where we are buying the flooring from come over and do a estimate. Looks like we will be installing the flooring ourselves. Install is more than the flooring it self!!!!!

Your welcome. Mix in small batches because it sets up with 5 minutes. Mix to the consistency of wet mud for best results. Let dry completely before handling rocks to insure it doesn't come apart. Will cure underwater all the way if needed.

Water change done for the weekend!

Well we pulled the trigger on some luxury vinyl plank flooring. Picked it up Saturday.

Our house was built in 2012. It's got linoleum flooring in the kitchen, bathrooms and Fourier. Under the linoleum is a sheet of quarter inch underlayment plywood. Under that is the subfloor for the house. The rest of the house has carpet.

In order to lay the LVP down, the 1/4" underlayment plywood has to be removed.

Tear out started Sunday afternoon and stopped around 11:00pm. The builders floor layers put a million staples in the underlayment requiring cutting the floor with a circular saw into 1'x1' squares, requiring chiseling it out.

3/4's of the kitchen is done, rest tomorrow.

Oh my goodness. That is a horrible job. We have done it too. I hope you can walk today.

Why do you have to remove the 1/4" ply? My house is on slab so we just had to use an underlayment that is moisture blocking.

Transition from linoleum to carpet would be 1/4" difference. Can't lay planks over that. Otherwise I would have laid the planks over the linoleum.

Been there and done that! I feel for you that is a time consuming and back aching job. We have a slab floor and didn't have to use an underlayment due to our vinyl plank had a cork backing.
