P

Thanks Kuya!

Sent you several emails.. LOL

I will take two bommies and call it a day .

I got them! Wow! I don't know if I'm that good, but I really love that first tank you sent! I may try that when I do my next tank (when I have more space)!

I might try that off centered column thing too. Those are really nice examples, bro! Thanks!

Just an awful cell pic of the tank this morning. I turned on just one of the T5 retro's. You can kind-of see where I added some more rock. I just wanted more space for corals mainly.

Nothing fancy, but definitely functional. :)

:attention:
I sent u an email ..
Updates ..
Do I have to answer it myself ,,,,,,,... tangke ay umiikot ? DOH .

Sorry guys.. I've taken some time off to concentrate on my health for a little bit. Since the tank started cycling, I'm just letting it do it's thing for a bit until I get used-to this workout program (P90X).

So, the only thing new really is that I added some coralvue 202 powerheads to the DT. I also purchased some new tools so I can get started on building some stands and what-not. I actually did take pictures of the two main purchases:

I've owned tools like this before, but not like this! The miter is HUGE and a double-beveled slider and the cordless drill is Li Ion! They're both insane!

Oh, and I may have to add my MP40w-ES' to the main tank... I don't like the look of cords going up and over the rimless look... it kind-of takes away from the sleekness... :( I really don't like the noise from the MP40's though... I'll run them like this for a little bit though.

Thinking of adding some fish today, too. My parameters are in-spec.

So, I'm dealing with major heat problems since adding some coralvue powerheads. I may have to stuff the MP40's in there. I think they look way cleaner, so I thought this day would come any way. Right now, I have a huge fan blowing over the surface water of the DT, and a smaller fan blowing through the sump. Temps were 84+ degrees last night. They are 78-79 this morning. I have two 300w heaters in the sump, as well, to help keep the temps between 78-80. I'll be hooking the chiller up soon, it seems. Also, I'm going to have to get a 1000w titanium heater for the refugium since it will be out in the garage. I don't know how cold it gets out there since this is my first winter in this house. I guess we'll see...

I took more pics last night because I added 7 fish to the tank. 5 chromis, a yellow tang (with a goofy back fin, thanks to my wife's kind heart... ugh...), and a hippo tang that is smaller than a quarter. They all seem to like the tank so far. I also added a stylo and some type of tri-color to the tank. They were looking beat up when I bought them, so I'm hoping they turn out alright (well, if they like my tank, that is). I got them cheap, so I'm not complaining...

Any way, more to follow... Hoping on adding some pics tonight.

thanks p! Means a lot coming from you! Yes, my friend! Go larger! Lol! :: Devil's advocate ::

I'm just going to start hanging out over here more often to (r2r). This site is built well, and the owners are great with the emails and family mentality. People are becoming quite nuts in my neck of the woods. Lol!

(just kidding houston! Who loves ya'? This guy!)

too funny flipside......

Thanks prsnlty! I'm not sure if I'll take it as far as that until I run them, though. I'd like to be SPS dominant, but I don't want too much flow because I'll have a sand bed this time around. :) I hope your're right! I hope the Sicce that I have forces me to buy more of them. :)

So, I got my RO/DI about 95% done last night. I did a little cable/tubing management (temporary) just to clean it up a bit, and tied-in my Tap line, sorted out the TDS meter, and ran it long enough to make sure there's no leaks. I will probably add-on a DI canister in the near future, but for now this'll do. I know it's a bit odd, but I took some pics of it last night.... Here they are:

Vertex's meter/cpu showing 00PP(M) for TDS. This measurement is taken at the end of the line (the good water).

This is my tap's TDS reading. Please ignore the Sharpie writing on the meter itself. I'll clean that up later, but the PO of the meter put those on there.

This is right after my RO membrane (it is still breaking in).

Here's the whole she-banga-bang... I'll clean it up more, later.

For those of you that wonder what waste water looks like. :)

I also put the doors on my stand, placed the sump in the stand, and the skimmer in the sump. I'm actually surprised I didn't take any pics of that! I think I got stuck on Diablo III or Bejeweled Blitz and just forgot. :D

Hi Flipside which Ro/DI unit did you get since you are in Houston and I was told that we have chloramines in our water and need special filters for the RO/DI units. Do you have them on your unit?

No, nothing special for the chloramines that may or may not be in there, Ms. Mermaid. :) I know that my particular water company doesn't use chloramines in their water. You really need to call and ask whoever your water provider is. But I would recommend something like THIS if you do have a chloramine issue.

I actually own a Vertex Puratek 100gpd unit. It's worked okay, but I plan on upgrading to something from Russ at Buckeye Field Supply when I get a chance to do so.

BTW, here are the little chromis' I bought the other day... it's a cam-pic, but good enough for now. :)

Green Chromis are cool schooling fish. how many did you end up getting? just the 5?

Thanks bro! Yeah, just the five for now. I would really like 10 of them in there. I have a QT setup with about 10 more in there, with some other fish. I going to start quarantining all new fish for 6 weeks before adding to the DT... even if my LFS says they did it. I've been burned too many times in the past and won't do that again.

I have a few more going into the tank soon. My dream fish ain't much to some, but I love them: it will be a pair (m/f) psychedelic/mandarin dragonettes, but I'm going to wait a year before buying them.

For my corals, I'm using the Bayer Complete Insect Killer as a dip. It worked pretty good on the two corals I have in there now. Never used it before so pretty pleased with the results.

I've never heard of using that dip before. just tells yah how far behind I am with corals nowadays. ;)

I too would love to get a m/f mandarins. maybe I'll look into captive bred pair. man, that'll be a nice school with 15 Green Chromis. definitely will be a very active bunch. :)

I've used that dip as well and has worked well. You gotta shake the bottle well though.
I think what also helps is a Yellow Coris Wrasse.

I "love" those fish! My kids called mine "Tweety," I think. Well, Tweety was found months later in the back of the tank, all dried out. Yep... she jumped. Looked like dehydrated mango, or something...

I do love them, though! I'm sure I'll add one soon. ;)

Here's a couple pics of my old one in my old tank that's been broken down for some time now:

R.I.P. Tweetster!

Again... really love that fish! Did I say that I love that fish?
