I'm just going to start hanging out over here more often to (r2r). This site is built well, and the owners are great with the emails and family mentality. People are becoming quite nuts in my neck of the woods. Lol!
(just kidding houston! Who loves ya'? This guy!)
Thanks prsnlty! I'm not sure if I'll take it as far as that until I run them, though. I'd like to be SPS dominant, but I don't want too much flow because I'll have a sand bed this time around.I hope your're right! I hope the Sicce that I have forces me to buy more of them.
So, I got my RO/DI about 95% done last night. I did a little cable/tubing management (temporary) just to clean it up a bit, and tied-in my Tap line, sorted out the TDS meter, and ran it long enough to make sure there's no leaks. I will probably add-on a DI canister in the near future, but for now this'll do. I know it's a bit odd, but I took some pics of it last night.... Here they are:
![]()
Vertex's meter/cpu showing 00PP(M) for TDS. This measurement is taken at the end of the line (the good water).
![]()
This is my tap's TDS reading. Please ignore the Sharpie writing on the meter itself. I'll clean that up later, but the PO of the meter put those on there.
![]()
This is right after my RO membrane (it is still breaking in).
![]()
Here's the whole she-banga-bang... I'll clean it up more, later.

For those of you that wonder what waste water looks like.
I also put the doors on my stand, placed the sump in the stand, and the skimmer in the sump. I'm actually surprised I didn't take any pics of that! I think I got stuck on Diablo III or Bejeweled Blitz and just forgot.![]()
I know that my particular water company doesn't use chloramines in their water. You really need to call and ask whoever your water provider is. But I would recommend something like THIS if you do have a chloramine issue.
I've never heard of using that dip before. just tells yah how far behind I am with corals nowadays. Thanks bro! Yeah, just the five for now. I would really like 10 of them in there. I have a QT setup with about 10 more in there, with some other fish. I going to start quarantining all new fish for 6 weeks before adding to the DT... even if my LFS says they did it. I've been burned too many times in the past and won't do that again.
I have a few more going into the tank soon. My dream fish ain't much to some, but I love them: it will be a pair (m/f) psychedelic/mandarin dragonettes, but I'm going to wait a year before buying them.
For my corals, I'm using the Bayer Complete Insect Killer as a dip. It worked pretty good on the two corals I have in there now. Never used it before so pretty pleased with the results.

cool. Thanks.Well, in-case you ever get back into the game (you had some sweet LPS, btw!) here's a link I found on YouTube:
DIY Coral Dip (Kills AEFW, Montibranch's, Red Bugs and all other know pests) - YouTube

I've used that dip as well and has worked well. You gotta shake the bottle well though.
I think what also helps is a Yellow Coris Wrasse.
