Flip's Reef

Impressive list! Sweet nog shot, too! Glad to see it's working so well!

Today, I went to two buddy's homes to get some frags. They have all been dipped, and placed in their temporary (some permanent) homes. I had to clean the heck out of the tank, so no pictures right now. I do want to list out the corals I bought because honestly... I'll forget. LOL

These, I got from one friend:

1. Green Mako Purple Meridiana
2. Tubs Mystic Blue
3. ORA Red Planet
4. Tyree Ponape Birdsnest
5. Exoticreef Aquamarine Nasuta
6. Pink Catspaw (one my favorite stylos)
7. Steve Alias Blue Tip Staghorn
8. Upscale Blue Polyps Microcladus
9. Naka Pink Lemonade
10. Aussie Strawberry Shortcake
11. Pink Prostrata
12. Exoticreef Strawberry Staghorn
13. Tyree Efflow
14. Marshall Island Purple Monster
15. Green Poccilopora
16. Tyree Grape Purple Monticap
17. Pink Monticap
18. ??? something else (not sure)
19. ??? something else (not sure)

The "???" indicates that there were more corals in the bags than I paid for. I guess that's a benefit of having great locals to buy from. :)

These, I got from another friend:

20. Some kind of green acro with blue tips (the mother colony was very nice)
21. Rainbow Millepora (it's what he was told it is) It wasn't encrusting in his tank, so he gave it to me

Any way... I had to clean the heck out of the tank when I got home. The algae is getting strong on the glass, so I had to razor scrape it on my mag float (the Algae Free Hammerhead is too strong for my tank). The tank is starting to clear up already.

Oh! I do have some pictures of the skimmate in my tank, after the week I was away on vacation... Pretty nice, nasty, stanky stuff! :D

Can't wait to see ur new additions . Make sure to get a shot of the catspaw n nasuta ...

SSC's are cool . I picked up a pink milli thinking it was a Christmas Mirabilis ... Looks like I have 3 SSC's now ... The original MACNA SSC is way different than the others I have seen . It will be interesting to see whcih one u picked up . Congrats .

Thanks P! I'm hoping things turn out in photo's the way I see them. They are gorgeous pieces and should fill-in nicely. :)

I got your text, and just saw that my reply didn't go through. LOL! Our phones suck, or something. I think that you did the right thing, the way you approached it. I would be pretty impatient at that point, as well. Kind-of shocking though... they are generally a good vendor. I've never had a single problem with them and I've spent thousands with them...

Yah .. Not sure what's going on with the phones . As far as the vendor ... It is, what it is ....

I guess our phones are working good now. It could be because I was in Ohio last week bro.

I'm at the stealership getting my cat serviced... My lights came on before I left, and all looks well upon quick glance. Can't wait to get trigger happy when I get home! I hope the turn out... Some may be hard to get due to the depth of the tank.

(making excuses...) ;)

So, here a bunch of pics of the corals I added. Frags aren't much to look at in general, but here's the one's that wanted to be photographed today anyway:

This guy was almost dead when I got him home... He's doing great now!

And the FTS. :)

That's all for now. I'll be adding more corals this week so stay tuned! ;)

Great progress ...so what is the time frame on the that ?
Easier to ask than to back track on the thread.

Impressive color-shift and growth and I'm digging the new frags! Glad you got pictures of them now so you can compare growth shots later. Nice work, Flip.

A Canon XSi. A little old, but it's better than my phone. I'm trying to get better at it.

Just another update. Building a new sump tomorrow. It should be around 105g and acrylic. The rubbermaid is kinda working on my OCD nerves. :D

It's doing really well, Marvin! Thanks! :) Also, I'm really thinking that he loves Bartlett's Anthias as a dietary supplement when I'm on vacation. LOL! Can't find those little guys anywhere. :(

:hammer:

expensive snacks!

Flip, I can't remember, are you using any foods/supplements for the corals or do they just get what's floating during regular fish feedings?
