Flipside's 120g Budget Build (Yeah Right)

Yeah man, I really like it a lot. It is very similar to the SKIMZ (that I bought from you back in the day) :) and I think that's why I love it so much. The acrylic is thicker than I thought it would be, and the DC pump is dead silent. Also, with all those things considered, it is "uber" easy to adjust. I can even make the bubbles more dense for a dry skim, or less dense on top for a wet skim. Shockingly happy with it so far. I don't know if I mentioned it, but my skimmate production is negatively impacted when I turn the BP Reactor off, though. Still dark as coffee, but takes awhile longer to build up.

Diggin' it! Not bad for a cheapy! LOL

:clap2::clap2::clap2: I'm glad your back my friend Leo.

Cool . As usual we have similar bad habits with skimmers . BUYING OVERSIZED ONES !!! . LOL . I would imagine you don't have a load on the system yet . I agree Carbon dosing does produce more nog . I keep getting inspired to get wet by my reef buddies but it ain't working for them . :) . If i do I think I will forgo a sump or work out something that organizes the wires by using board boxes and sealing it off . U don't know how ****** I was when I saw salt corrosion on my RKL modules or how bad the DJ power strip looked when I broke down the tank . I donated a lot to a noob reefer so my tally spreadsheet is gonna look pretty rough one day . BTW can't wait to see how the dosing pumps work out . I am curious to the noise level and accuracy after calibrations are done or how often they drift .

I really like what this reefer named Bangalang did with this stand and equipment management . Too bad I can't see the wires in the back but I take it's proly pretty tidy .

The pumps I run are not the quietest. :) They're definitely going to be hard to hear if I ever skin the stand, that's for sure. They haven't drifted much. I just check them tonight. I get worried about that too, especially considering how cheap this dosing pump system is. But, no complaints so far.

That Bangalang ain't playing around! Gorgeous setup! I wish I had half the skills!

I would have been ticked at the salt corrosion too, brutha! I have plans to fix my entire setup here soon so that nothing is over the water. That's coming soon. :)

WOW page 7 ?? No updates ? U must be cruising now ..
I did a spreadsheet for a possible future build and I fell against the wall when I got up .
Nah , it was my meds, they keep my BP n heart rate down and my body forget's this or I do .. lol . I did delete prices on the last column . >>A LOT OF THEM .
I am taking my time but my bud's here are really trying to get me wet again . . I see u went to t5 . Doesn't seem like a lot of fixtures out now impress me . Geisemann's new fixtures should be out soon , Aurora, Matrix II dimtec ,Futura .. all uber $$$$ . Good for me they all fall short of what I would want or need .
I just got off the phone with one of my bud's and he says there's a CV mini pendant and lumatek ballast waiting for me . He was looking for some new rock for a re-boot . I pointed him to some air ship rock but I think he's too tempted by the boat rock prices .

LOL! Oh-oh... I'm just cruisin' now. :) I have some things I'm planning to do here soon, but nothing mind bending.

Yes, there aren't too many new, innovative fixtures these days. I mean, I like the new ATI setup, but I don't want to sell one of my kids to get one. LOL

Dude! Come on back to the dark side! We like guys like you in the hobby because you have great taste in sticks! :P :)

Afternoon bro.
Can u at least commit to a once a month update ? lol .
BTW, I looked at a ro di unit from Fountain Water Systems . It's a 6 stage unit and it's easy to add a dual inline tds and pressure gauge to it .
Is this the system u are using now ? I briefly remember something about made in the USA an local .
TIA
P

Hey crazy question for you on the T5/MH fixture, would you be able to measure the "MH reflector box" length and width? I wanted to see I could fit an old AI nano in there so i could do a DIY "hybrid" light. Thanks!!
