Float valve help?

Okay so I got as far as installing the bulb float valve on my brute can.

then I am looking at the two mechanism and I have no clue which lines to put through and where? The brs video and others don’t show me this- at least none I can find and the thing doesn’t come with instructions- so I turn to you guys for help!

which piece am I using- and if both please guide me where.

for the larger piece, I feel like the filtered water output goes in the back and the waste line goes in the front?

what do I do with the smaller piece?

help please before I start cutting lines and ruin it all lol.

Also- I feel like the filter like put in the float valve is wrong? I’m so confused!! Help??
Where does the water come out of? Why is this so hard?

The water comes out right under that white float. The float pushes up on a valve,

I think I got it, I found a really old BRS video hidden deep, and when I tested by pushing the bulb up it did stop running water into the line. that's right, right?

Correct, the old float valve pictured came on a stainless strip that could be bent to fine tune the shut off point.
The newer ones have a plastic screw to adjust the shut off.

thank you! It seems so easy once it was done, but so confusing with so many lines and lack of labels.
