So I upgraded my RO/DI unit from a 180 GPD to a 300 GPD. Before the upgrade my float valve would turn off production once closed. Since the upgrade the float cannot close. Once the water reaches the float it continues to make water. The float will be completely submerged and still cannot close. I would give it the slightest nudge and then it would close. So I thought maybe I just need a new float. Nope... that didn't work. So then I thought lets get a bigger float than the 1/4in. Nope that doesn't work either. I still need to give it the slightest nudge upwards for it to completely close and trip the shutoff valve. One thing I have noticed is that since the upgrade to the 300GPD my pressure is around 45 and before I use to be at 60. I did change the flow restrictor to the one that came with the new membranes. I'm thinking that can be detrimental to the membranes but I don't think having less pressure in the membranes could cause a float to not close. I'm thinking I might have to get a solenoid valve. Any ideas on what can cause this and what possible solutions there might be? Thanks!
