Little background first. My 15g nano has been setup for a few weeks now. I started with new bagged coralife live sand and 12lbs of live rock out of a established tank. A week later I bought another big rock but it was just plain cured rock. I didn't start testing my levels till about 4 or 5 days after I set it up. My first tests were 0 ammonia and the nitrates were 2.5. I have done two 3 gallon water changes since it was set up. I only run floss under the overflow which gets changed out twice a week. No fish but there are two zoa frags in there.
I have been playing with the placement of my Tunze 6040 trying to get a good flow everywhere. I moved it again yesterday morning while doing a little cleaning and now it's a few inches in front of the over flow. Yesterday afternoon I came in from outside and noticed there where tiny pods all over the glass and stuff floating everywhere in the water column. Tested again last night because I thought the piece of cured rock could have been not so cured but my results where 0 on ammonia and 0 on nitrates. Using salifert nitrate test and API ammonia.
The floaties look like they are white specks could they be baby pods I stirred up by moving the 6040 to the other side of the tank?
I haven't moved the power head since I add the other piece of rock either, I'm curious if it's just stuff that was on the rock that's getting blown out since I moved the power head to the other side of it.
I will try moving the 6040 back to the other side of the tank because I think it's just keeping the stuff suspended and not letting it get to the overflow. Other than the stuff floating around the water is clear and not cloudy at all.
Anyone have any other ideas of what they could be?
EDIT: well from what I have found it is probably just pods that are getting stirred up since they are all over the glass too. But if anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears.
