So I am thinking about a floating canopy with a possible diffuser.

tank info:
res sea 650P
lighting will be 2X photon V2

so my questions are:
~what material did you all build your canopies out of? pine primed and painter? hows it holding up?
~should I do something more water resident like PVC board or acrylic?
~anyone add a light diffuser to there canopy? I have the 3Dreefing Ai prime diffuse and love it woks so great. I do know it will cut down on par in the tank.

I need it to block light spill, be light as i only have (1 beam to hang it from ) and look clean and modern.
oh and not be to big and bulky as this is a room divider tank.

I used 8020 and primed base board from Home Depot. Lots of details in my build thread.

I think the easiest to work with would be wood 1x4 or 1x6. prime the heck out of them and paint it. was just curious how your painted canopies are doing in the SW environment?
