I built a floating canopy for my tank, I should have taken pictures during the build but I was on a roll. Spent a lot of time looking at other pics and came up with this idea. It's really simple. 1x6s cut to size with a 1x6 back plate to attach to wall studs held to the canopy buy a piano hinge. It folds up if needed. The radions are mounted to rails on the inside to 1/4in ply cut to size. I was originally going to mount radions on the tank with rms mounts, but when I tried to buy my second rms the dealer on this forum went awol and never shipped (that's another story.) The plywood is attached to the rails with a single bolt so they swivel (for no good reason, just felt like good idea at the time.) the radions are attached to the plywood with long m8 bolts? I don't remember the thread size. Wish I made it out of 1x8, still might just attach some later to help with bleed and stain them. Still have to hide the cords. Anyway, it's solid, works well, more than happy to answer any questions.

Yea definitely, I shouldn't have rushed it, I wasn't sure it would work. I think I was more excited about getting the radions up and running. I'll probably throw a sheet over the tank and stain and coat the wood since it already up.
Nice job!!
I would recommend either some paint or Stain/Seal/Top coat to protect the wood. Over time, you may end up with problems otherwise.
