Hello, in my 180 reef I have always been struggling with stuff floating around in the water column. I have tried filter socks, mechanical filtration, carbon and still cannot get the water clear of this stuff. My 55 gallon reef has yet to have this problem and I believe it was set up relatively close to when I set up the 180. I am just trying to figure if I can do anything else to help clear the water from whatever is flating there. i do not believe it is sand either. Thanks

What micron filter sock are you using?

Try some korrallen zuct marine snow.

I had those kind of issue in the past. One day I've introduced Ozone and the water now it's pristine. Try reading about it because it's not something everyone agrees as a must have.

Hmm 200 is what most people use.. You could try 100 but that's more maintenance. Possibly a pump blowing detritus everywhere? Could be something simple like that. My water is fairly clear but whenever it's feeding time all my fat fish act all crazy and kick a lot of crap up from the rocks.

Ozone could work but be very careful and do your research how to properly use it because it can be bad for the tank and your health. It does work as alfrareef stated above but me personally don't think it's worth it with the potential hazards and costs.

I won't try that because I do not want to risk the tank but what about what Paullawr said about korrallen zuct marine snow. what is yalls experience with that.

Unfortunately I've never used it so i couldn't tell ya :(
