Thankfully with the help of a local reefer I saved my fish and coral with my 3:00am 30 minute evacuation order.
However, from the pictures I was shown, my tank fully submerged. I did not have time to move any of my equipment or anything as the river was eroding the banks by the second. I am curious if anyone can say what may or may not be recoverable. Unfortunately I can’t check anything in person as I was evacuated and am not allowed back in due to sewage in the streets. Won’t be able to come back for a week or more with current estimates. I did shut off power so nothing was running.
My tank is fully submerged. Within it is all my rockwork. It is safe to assume my micro/macro algaes are toast, as are the nassarius I didn’t have time to search for. (As is my aiptasia problem, so I guess that’s a bonus). The water is very possibly contaminated by raw sewage. Is my rock even salvageable at this point?
HOB filters, HOB skimmer, temp controller, power head controller, even my LED lights were completely underwater for hours before it started dropping. Had some spare metal halide lights. Multiple bottles of various fish meds that may or may not have floated. Some sealed, some opened.
Submersible heaters I assume are fine.
I also had several bags of live sand for a planned upgrade. Sealed, so probably okay?
Sump pump too is down there, but it’s meant to run external, so probably also buggered?
Heck, there was so much water down there my empty 230gal floated off its 3’ high stand, tipped over and looks like it broke against the wall.
