Everytime I take purple corraline algae out of the water for a bit it becomes bright pink for a while. Does anyone know anything about this?

It’s the corraline algae getting stressed and possibly dying. Almost like a bleaching event. I notice it around corals that encrust as well as the coral overtakes the algae.

kinda cool looking imo

Oh very interesting, makes sense now. Would be pretty cool if it was it's natural state
