Florida Dry Rock - Aragonite ? Limerock? Landscaping ?

I have read about companies in the Florida Keys who drop aragonite rock that has been mined from quarries near Miami into the ocean off of the middle Keys and let it come alive. I see some landscaping rock that looks alot like dry rock I see in the LFS. Is this dry rock called something else in the landscaping, gardening or even pond business? On one site, I saw a white coral looking rock that was being called Florida Top Rock.

here is the company I buy rock from. I haven't bought any of the live (aquacultured in the way you describe) from them just the dry. Miami Oolite – Calcium Carbonate Limestone is how they describe it on their website.

I originally bought from bulk reef supply but kp winds up being .99 cheaper per lb than brs and .75 per lb cheaper than salwateraquarium.com. I also like the shapes that come in the shelf rock package; it actually comes with about equal amounts shelf and base.

Here in central Texas many landscape supply carry what's called "Holey Rock". Been using it along with mricultured live rock from Florida for a couple decades with good success. I just hose it off real well to get rid of any dirt and moss or lichen. Here's a couple of my systems that's about 60% - 70% local limestone and the rest maricultured live rock.
