I purchased a lot of ricordeas and many arrived attached at the rims. I need to separate them as many are the same color. One group is 6, another 5, 4 and so on. I know they can be cut at the mouth for propagation but at the outer rim? If you know how to separate them, please advise. Is an iodine bath recommended after separation? Thank you!

Are you getting them off a plug or rock ?

They are just loose on the sandbed but attached at the skirts. Some I will be able to attach to rock or plugs as some do have small pics of rock attached but that's not what I'm concerned about James. I just need to know if and how I can separate the ones that have grown together, and if I should do an iodine after the separation. I'm forever in your debt if you can provide me guidance;) Thanks for responding!

Gm, were you the one that ordered them online in a box for $320 from an online vendor a few days ago?

You can cut them apart where they are attached. They would naturally tear if they were attached to a rock and could pull apart.

How are you planning to attach them to a substrate? I have a bunch of blue florida ricordea that are loose that I need to get on plugs or something to sell.

Not planning on them attaching for placement but they need rock, rubble, etc to usually be glued/epoxied to rock, discs/plugs.
