I Just read a story On how The FWC Busted a guy for having Angels that were too large in his Garage,& Wondering how they legally charged him having found the fish in his Home (Granted he probably deserved it) I went on the FWC Regulation site & It says you must have proof showing the chain of possession proving where your fish come from... & I'm Still not sure how someone would prove how large a Native angel was when it was harvested?
Does anyone have insight on this? Is it legally possible our Aquariums (IN Florida) could come into question????
Guess my Main Question here is Does anyone else keep Records showing Origin & Chain of possession of their livestock?

Here is the Post By the FWC on Facebook,

Here are the rules pertaining to size limits & Possession.

Here are all the rules relating to ornamentals.

Proof of possesion would be the bill of sale from where you purchased the fish. Our personal aquariums are not in question at all fish are going to grow. If two years ago you purchased a french angel and it grew over the limit its ok. It grew, you did not collect it over 10''. FWC is not going to knock on your door asking about your fish. I belive the person in trouble might have been catching large numbers of fish and got popped with a couple oversized fish. I honestly think we do not see enough stories from FWC reguarding tropicals so when something like this happens its News. When really it should be routine, Ive seen some big blues, queens and french angles for sale but when its in your home aquarium its not a problem. The fish succesfully traveled through the chains of collection and sale. NOW if you jumped in your boat bring home a 10" Queen and get caught thats another story.

Main question, Collectors sell these fish to the wholesalers price dictates the size or s,m,l,xl. Bottomline No over sized fish on FWC rules should even be listed or sold and IF SOLD a medium or other size will be noted on bill. Because collector knows its illegal. If FWC doesnt catch fish leaving ocean then its next to impossible to catch it later. Unless they start visiting wholesalers and stores.

Ya was not impressed when the bucket dump acclimation or the hand toss. Posting like hero's while treating what they are suppose to protect poorly. They might have been better off in the garage
