Floss in Filter Cups- Leads to dirty Sump

I stopped using socks in my Red Sea reefer sump because of may reasons I have read about. However I have been using filter floss ever since. It seems that my sump is always dirty even after I clean it. Floss only gets dirty on about 1/2 of rolled floss. The rest must find it's way into my sump. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas or solutions?

I would go back to using socks. They are a pain to clean, but worth a cleaner sump IMO.
Some people use floss to avoid cleaning socks and don't need to change the floss as often, but even if you let the floss go a week or longer, think of all the gunk that builds up in the floss that is decomposing and possibly poisoning the water quality.

I went back to socks. Hated the filthy sump. I prefer the mesh socks on my RS. Much easier to clean.
