Flourish Comprehensive for Iron and Magnesium

Hey all, I wanted everybodies thoughts on using Flourish Comprehensive for Iron and Magnesium dosing (as well as other trace elements) instead of buying other supplements specifically made for a reef system. I'm asking because I already have Flourish Comp, however, I have not done it yet. Just curious. The only problem I can see is that the phosphate level in Flourish Comp is kind of high (~.01%), but the tank should be able to take care of that right?

Any thoughts are very welcome

I can't easily search right now, but do you really mean magnesium and not manganese?

Magnesium and iron would not be two additives I'd look for in a combination product.

Flourish Comp contains .11% Magnesium and .32% Iron along with many other traces elements including Manganese.

The other problem I see with it is that it contains .0001% copper. I also just realized that it contains .37% Soluable potash so it probably isnt a good idea to add to a reef system if I don't want potassium levels to go crazy.

Ok, so in that case it has zero use as a magnesium additive for seawater, since normal seawater levels of magnesium are more than 200 million times the iron level.

If you dose enough iron to be useful (say, 0.0001 ppm iron), it would be useless for magnesium. If you dose enough to be useful for magnesium, you'll probably go bankrupt since it contains less magnesium than seawater and you'd kill the tank with iron.
