I have been conflicted with this for many years, when it comes to detritus and how much flow. My current tank is a 120g, bottom drilled with 2 durso style overflows in the back of the tank. I thought I would love this tank and the massive amounts of water it was capable of turning over, but after 6 or so months of running I've noticed that the detritus accumulation in the corners beside, in-between and INSIDE the overflows is enormous. No matter what I do, aside from pointing power heads directly at the affected corners, I cannot seem to get any movement in those areas of the tank. The tank currently has 3 koralias and a Jebao WB40 in it and I'm still struggling with these dead zones. I really do not want to have to move my rock work around every month to get to those dead spots behind them.
So, I'm interested in hearing some of my fellow reefers' ideas on how you guys handle these "dead spots" in your tanks.
