I have a 65 gallon mixed reef, the light is a 250 watt metal halide 20k radium. Currently, I run it from 8 am till I get home from work, usually 415. Is this too long? I've been thinking about running it for 6 hours in the evening. My second question is the flow. I purchased the tank used, and I came with two koralia poweheads, I'm not sure of the flow rate. I honestly don't think I have enough flow, since there are so many dead spots where dirt build up. What would be a good sized powerhead for my system?

The lighting period you have is just fine, nothing wrong there. I run mine 8 hours. But why not run the lights from 4pm to 12am so you can enjoy your tank when your home?
Couple of Hydor 600
Couple of controllable WP25
Flow in your tank should start out at 6500gph and go up from there, the more the better.

I've been thinking about running it from 415 until 10-10:30. I have to turn the light on/off manually, so I could run it until we go to bed. Time to upgrade the powerheads.
