Thinking maybe two reeflo dart golds. One running closed loop, one through the sump. Total of 5400gph under 300watts at 6ft head.

You think that's high or low or just right for an mixed but spa dominate tank?

Is your sump going to be an acting refugium?

Now regarding flow, I think there is a huge difference between having the "correct" turnover rate and having quality flow. So a well designed closed loop could provide adequate flow but more likely you will find that adding a few powerheads inside the tank along with the closed loop will make for a happy tank. May I suggest 2 MP60's on opposite ends of the tank in anti sync mode? Creating a nice back and forth motion.

Then I would say you are set! Another thing to consider will be your aquascaping and how it will affect the flow.

Sounds like great flow. Your gonna love the reflo. I have them on my tank and love them. super quiet. Did you ever find or figure out your acrylic issue? Was John or Jason able to help at all?

He wasn't able to find a vendor with 10' sheets. I'm gonna end up going with advanced aquatanks. Placing the order next week.

Well I'm glad you were able to find someone to get it done for you. Bummer John couldn't help but im sure advanced aquatanks will make you an awesome tank. I'm excited for you to get this done. I mean you started before me even got you stand from Travis before me as well. Infact your stand was the one I saw him building on socali and that's what made me contact him. I love my stand and light setup. Travis does nice work

That is going to be a lot of flow threw the sump so you will need a skimmer that can keep up or you will have a lot of unfiltered water returning to the tank. If it was me I would have a slower return rate but that is me. A. Skimmer with a good size pump would be a option too. I hope I made some since and helped some. Lol

Good to hear the AI is working for you. I had a lot of bad luck with colors on my frag tank. Made e go back to t5s

The nice thing about the reflo is they are designed to be throttled back so if he needs to slow it down he can. It also lowers the wattage when they are throttled back.

Yes the AI's are kicking butt and I have great color with them. I know what you mean though some have success with the led's some don't IDK i'm just happy it's working for me it was a big investment.

Forgot about that. I have my mag 18 throttle back by almost half but crank it up when I stir my sandbed and do water changes. thank for reminding me. Oops

I'm also going to be using the Sump pump on a manifold to feed my recirc skimmer, UV, carbon and gfo reactor
