Flow for 48"Lx24"Wx17"H

I was looking for flow ideas, my return pump is about 1090gph, Im looking at maybe two gyres for the back on each side of the tank? Or is that too much? Any ideas? I want to avoid vortech due to the money, but if thats the best to go , ill do that.

I currently have a MP40, MP10, and a Gyre 350 on my tank. They are both great, and both lack in some way. I currently have my Gyre at 30 percent max because it is to big. I have a 120 gal 48x24x24 tank. I like having the MP pumps on one side while having the Gyre on the other side. The only thing bad about the Gyre is that you have to clean the impellers every other week to keep the flow up.

I put a pair of Icecap 2K's on my tank (4'x2'x16"). They're mounted vertically on the back corners. I have the bottom blade on one pointing across the back behind the rock. The top blades on both point to the front center. The bottom blade on the second one points forward. It takes some time getting used to the app to set them up but once they're running they're dead silent and pretty easy to clean. Right now I've got them alternating and maxing out at 60%. +1 on keeping the gyres clean. It’s the main drawback for me. And it isn’t a fast wet side swap like the MPs. That said the flow they produce is second to none!

Do you guys rec placing the horizontal on the back? So two on both sides? I'm going to have a return pump from the back one pipe split running about 1000gph
