I know there are a few folks out there that have a 60 cube. Mine has a corner overflow which, in my mind makes aquascape and wave maker positioning difficult. I need some suggestions about where to place power heads. I fave an eheim attached to the overflow box via magnet, a gyre on the left wall and a wavepuck in the back. I was trying to leave the right wall free and the front free for viewing (tank sits in a corner) but I’m not sure anymore. I have all the powerheads set on various different power settings and patterns but I feel like something isn’t right.

Can I get some ideas from others with a cube?

Do you have sand on the bottom? Have you watched the BRS series on ULM tanks? They have a full video on flow but are using bare bottom tanks so your options are a little more limited in placement but not necessarily equipment used.

No, I don't have a cube. Would you be willing to post an FTS? Might help get responses if people can see your aquascape.

I am setting up a 60g cube myself, I decided that 2 gyres would be the best option for flow in the tank placed perpendicular to each other, especially since you can operate 2 of the 230s off of a single controller

As to placing individual powerheads, we would need some pictures of the tank to see.

I'm setting up my 60 cube now, but with a modular marine overflow instead of the corner unit. I'm planning to mimic the BRS design with MP10's, at least 2, maybe 3 and then varying flow between them all to create a diverse flow pattern throughout. I also toyed with the idea of a gyre, but it would mean having a cord come up and over the rim of the tank, which I'm tyring to avoid (for purely aesthetic reasons).

For placement, I would think you should have them so that the flows created from each powerhead could hit each other to help produce a turbulent, random flow. Then, being able to vary where those flows intersect would help to stir up any settled food/detritus keep the tank clean.
