I've put together a 65g (36x18x24) and would like some opinions on finalizing my flow.

I currently have a couple Koralias doing the job (550 and 1050gph). I don't like how much room they take up and am looking to either an MP40 or a couple tunze 6045's.

My plan is a mixed reef with SPS,LPS, and Zoas.

Would the MP40 or 6045's be TOO much?
I've read you want 20-40x you tank volume for flow. 65x20-40= 1300-2600gph

I'm leaning toward the Tunze 6045's because I can get two for $100 shipped! They are not the "new" adjustable models but still have the titanium shaft.

I know I can find MP40s used for $300

What would you do and why?

THANKS!

You will love the MP40! :D

i would go with 2 mp10 over a mp40 for your tank .. your corals will love the flow comming from both directions and if u set them on Reefcrest mode youll have happy corals :)

Got an mp40 gen2 from a local reefer. Hate it! Soooooo loud.

Thank all for the replies!

Gonna go tunze!

1 MP40 or 2 MP10 should work fine. some people love mixing an MP40 and an MP10 in the back
