I just picked up an awesome clam. My tank has lots of flow and it's mantle waves around a bit. How much is too much?

A little movement is fine but if it's really blowing the mantle around I would find a spot with a little less flow.
Tried to upload a vid but gin an error. It's moving pretty good but not violently

If it stops him from extending its mantle then its too much...if he's extending fine I wouldn't worry...best flow for clam is straight on hitting the inhalent siphon first...

Yes, clams can "walk" with their foot if they would like to find a happier place in the tank.

Good to know! We just got him and he hadn't attached to anything yet. Should I just leave him be or put him back where I put him?

I've found that they will typically position there self to get flow they like. Sometimes will move slowly over course of a few weeks others quickly Like overnight

Thank you! Yeah it seems he keeps moving a little bit each day
