So I want to my get a pump for my mixed reef. Should I get 1 gyre or 1 Nero 5. Will 1 Nero 5 be enough.

I’ve got a 32 gallon with a sicce voyager nano 2000. I’m finding that is not enough flow being that it isn’t pushing enough or having enough coverage.
now I know that the Nero5 is a lot better than this however it still dosnt have the coverage of two power heads or a gyre I think for having a single pump on a 29 gallon unless it’s a rock wall aquascape the gyre would be better due to wider coverage.

Ok. Also my 29 gallon tank isn’t a cube. 30” x 12.5” x 18” tall.

Would this work it is a bit more budget friendly.

IceCap 4K Gyre Flow Pump with Dual Pump WiFi Controller
Or i was thinking a Nero 5 and one of the new hydor koralia. Maybe even just two of the new hydor koralia.

I have a 29 gallon tank the same as you and have run Gyre XF230 for 2 years now. Its absolutely more then enough, almost overkill actually. I typically run it at 10-20% or it will tick off my LPS.

If I’ll only run it at 20% I probably shouldn’t get such an expensive pump. Maybe jebao cross flow.

I have a slightly bigger tank than yours but the same proportions, All I'm running is a Tunze 6025. I may add something a little smaller for a bit extra flow.

Has anybody heard anything about the jebao cross flow. I might get the most powerful jebao cross flow I can find, and a new hydor koralia 1350gph.

Jebao CP-150 Cross Flow Pump Wave Maker with Controller
Provides up to 7500gph, and has a controller.
I would pair it with this:

Hydor 60701149 Koralia 3G Third Generation Circulation Pump, 1350Gph/5.5watt

Those gyres are great, but be careful. They move a TON of water. An icecap 4k is way too much flow for a 29. A 1 or 2K would be a better range.

Is a gyre or icecap worth the extra money.

That's a great debate. I just wanted you to keep in mind flow rates on some of those pumps. And gyre pumps (maxspect, icecap, other brands) move a ton of water in a sheet. It's not like a traditional wavemaker.
