So I am trying to figure out what I should use to get the best flow in my reefer 250. It is currently FOWLR plus a couple of softies but will be adding more softies plus SPS. Right now I just have the sicce 3.5 return plus a MP10 on the right side and that obviously won't be enough. Would love suggestions on the right pumps and placement to create strong flow.

Tank dimensions are 36 x 21 x 20 - 54 gal with. 11 gal sump

Thanks!
Shane

On my Reefer 250 I use a Sicce 3.5, MP10WQD and MP40WQD. Both the MP10 and 40 do not go over 50%.

Thx, do you have them on opposite walls? I find with just the mp10 I get dead spots in the back outside corners.

Ok, more info. I want apex integration (here's hoping Santa is reading this) I have two "mountains" of live rock coming up in middle of tank 50 - 60% to the top. I want to get into SPS at some point.

Should I get the MP40 and place on end and keep MP10 but place on back walk on opposite side? Get rid of MP10 and get 2 MP40s on opposite sides?

It should I be considering a gyre and the MP10?

Thanks,
Shane

In my sps tank I like at least 60x gph in proportion to the amount of water volume. So in my 70 gallon I like at least 4200 gph of flow. I run close to 5600 gph. All my sps grows fast and my Lps and Zoas do great
