I have a 4ft, 18” deep SPS dominant tank. One Vortech 40 on each sides. What will be the best setting? Is good to have just one setting or multi settings over a day?

I have a pair of mp10s on my 3 foot tank,i really like reef crest (yellow) anti sync mode. Creates random flow by ramping one pump and slowing the other then switching. As far as how much flow, I'm guessing this is a 75 gallon? What types of corals do you have.

For the MP40’s wouldn’t a WXM be more appropriate?

I am debating the same thing with my new build so have no 1st hand experience but I am debating a reef crest on 1 and slow pulse for the other so there is a turbulent wave during the day then anti sync lagoon mode at night-

So I will follow for any added advice

You can use the VDM for the vortechs but the VXM is preferred. I personally like to use reefcrest with tidal swell and I mix in constant speed and lagoon. Only because I have a mixed reef.

I'm a fan of pulsating flow. All my vortechs are set on random pulsating

I run Reef crest around 75% while lights are running lagoon at night around 25% and do a tidal swell a hour before the lights come one and nutrient transport in the even for a hour as well...

Using all the different mode. Do you really see any benefits to your sps?

I do the tidal swell and reef crest for the coral which they seem to love.. I do the lagoon mainly for the fish to be able to rest at night and the nutrient transport for the system overall..

Here is my setup.
