So I have had my tank up and running for many years and have always had 2 powerful pumps on each side. Currently I have an mp60 on the return side and a tunze 6255 on the overflow side (The magnet can go into the overflow on the back or I would have an mp40 or 60 there.

I have witnessed many times when things get disturbed in the tank instead of junk going down my overflow I feel it just gets sent back around the tank by the tunze. While my tank is an in wall not a peninsula in concept from flow it is the same as a peninsula... I am wondering if anyone else has run into this and if it would make more sense to have 2 pumps on the far side of the tank working as a wave maker towards the overflow instead of the pump on that side?

I am really close to going bare bottom as well which has had me thinking about getting mp40s to run on the bottom of the overflow side but that would take some rework of the piping on that side.

Anyone see this just looking for ideas.

Thanks!

I have 5ea mp60 pumps. 2 come on and blow the opposite way once every 2 hours. This pushes stuff around into the water coloum. When they go off the stuff gets sucked into the over flow.
