I found a peninsula tank I'm interested in getting: 4 feet X 2 feet x 20 inches high.

I was originally planning on using a MP40 on the short side of the tank opposite of the overflow/return, but it will obscure the view. Anyone have a 4 foot peninsula and using a MP40 on the same side as the overflow/return? Is the flow sufficient?

I've never had a closed loop, but maybe that would be more appropriate?

thanks

I’d use two MP40’s on the overflow end

On peninsula tanks, closed loops are great. However, you don't get as much flow, generally.

What about a gyre or two on the overflow end?

I’m ok with using MP40s or gyre on the overflow side. I’m unsure if it will provide adequate flow for a 4 foot tank.

I have a 4th peninsula and run a Gyre XF250 on both ends antisync mode at 60% max with 4 second intervals. Works good for me, plenty of flow, sand stays put.
