Hello. I upgraded to a reefer 250 a few weeks ago. As of right now I have the M1 as my return at about 70% and dual Maxspect Gyre 130s mounted about 2 inches below the surface across from each other on random flow at max 40%. I also have a MP40 in the box that I am not using that I want to incorporate as well. What is the best way of doing this? Can I put the mp40 on the back right wall? Since the return is slightly mounted on the left side. Or should I mount the Gyre vertically on the back wall and mount the mp40 on the right side? I have a mix reef SPS dominate. Middle of my rock structure is my BTA, left and right structure is all SPS. Bottom left is my 2x torches, middle bottom is a Duncan and frogspawn. I’ve attached a picture for reference.

It's an extremely subjective call Ktran. I'd opt for the easy version first, mount the MP40 on the back. If you aren't happy with the flow you can always go for the change of a gyre to be vertical and move the MP40 as an alternative.

Good luck. BTW, pretty good looking system for only being a few weeks old.

That sounds like a ton of flow for a 54G tank. I am running 2 mp40s in a Reefer 425 XL.

What percentage are you running your MP40? It looks like I have some dead spots on the right side of my tank (far side of the return)

Thanks. I might put the MP40 there on the lowest setting and see how that works if not I might sell it and put my Gyre vertically on the back wall.
