90G (48x18x24"). What flow should I have for a mixed reef, heavy in softies and zoas? Would 4600 or 6000 gph be better?

More is better but quality over quantity matters most. In 90’s 2 gyre 330’s do well or dual mp40’s.

Random patterns of flow help also. Instead of having the same flow streams. Plus it helps get that settling detritus in areas that may become stagnant.

Basics of flow for volume turn over are:
(Ps this is an over exaggerated average)
Fowler - 20x
LPS - 40x
Sps upto 100x

So as a sheer volume turnover the 6000gph would give you like 65x. Meaning most likely adequate for what you want but coral placement and flow patterns will be the ultimate deciding factor

Does that include return pump?
