I've got a 36"x36"x24" 150g tank. Currently using 2 xf350 gyres for flow. I've had to turn them down to 20-30% to keep velocity at the surface reasonable and not move too much gravel around, then wind up with areas of low flow on the outer edges of the tank. Considering moving to 4 MP40s turned down low for more even coverage, but wanted to see if anyone had another idea for a large cube. Thoughts?

We have basically exact same tank - at least dimensionally. Our office tank is a 36 x 36 x24in cube, but it's only 134 gallon display (at least that’s how the math works out: 36" x 26" x 24" / 231 = 134.64 gallons) .

However, it's is flowed by just two 1in Random flow generators nozzles along the back wall - and it fills the entire tank with flow.

I realize it’s probably too late for you to do the same - at least not in the same way we did , but maybe if you position your gyers it the same way we have the RFGs.

Basically position them vertically a few inches in from each side of the tank. That way they're essentially both forcing flow down the length of the tank but vertically. This will cause a laminar flow to run down the length of the tank bounce around the corners and meet in the middle front. There will create a lot of turbulence and then flow back towards the pumps. I think you can probably get away without even having the MP40s, depending on which rock work looks like.
