This Red Sea 260 was just set up yesterday so ignore the wonky rocks. How do I deal with all the bubbles? Is the top flow thing too strong?

Sorry about the delay in answering. I thought I had posted the answer but realized just now it was still just sitting there.

Show pucture of your return pump and skimmer in action? Those bubbles are being blown in from the sump.. it could be yo ur skimmer. Turn off your skimmer and wait 5 minutes and see if its still happening. If it is its just the skimmer breaking in will go away when skimmer starts working properly.. if its still doing it check that the return pump and pipe thats connected to the pump is sealed properly and there is no air being sucked in with the pump

Do you have a new skimmer? If so shut off the air, (plug the input), and run it that way to break it in. It looks like the bubbles are from that. I have the Red Sea E-260 and it looks like your flow is good. I put variable flow generators on mine to get more random flow.

Thanks. The skimmer was shut down when the bacteria was added. I’ll see if I can get a picture.

If the skimmer is off I’d take a look at the return pump plumbing; is the entire input & output submerged? Perhaps part of it isn’t under water and is sucking in some air???

The plumbing is at the back and I can’t get a good look at it but here’s a short video that at least you can hear the noise.

So I looked and the entire pump is not submerged. Should I add water directly to that area?

I'm a noob and don't have the same sort of tank so I wouldn't take my advice w/o further investigation or confirmation from someone w/ more experience...

but, my hunch is that's what's causing it. the question is - why, isn't it submerged? I don't know how that tank is designed but there's gotta be a best practice for how to get the level "right".

I'm impatient - so, personally, id call Red Sea and ask =)

Theres your problem,, the water level in the last chamber is way too low.. you need to add more water to about 6 inch of height
