Flow in refugium

How much flow should I have in my refugium? I'm using a 5 gal addon bucket to my sump as a refugium and i'm not sure how much flow I should be providing.

I have a split sump flow. the bean animal provides the full siphon to go to the skimmer and the partial siphon to go to the refugium. the refugium sometimes has limiited flow so i added a pump to the refugium on a timer. this gives periods of turbulence to keep the chaeto rolling and the refugium oxygenated. I want my pods to be active in the column not just sheltering in the sand. depending on your system the flow needs will be different case to case. I think it is a worthwhile effort to find your tank's sweet spot.
