My flow pump went out to day i was looking a current USA, But i'm unsure about current I would hate to buy a flow pump and a year or two have a pump go out and current USA has discontinued the pump. Is this company stable in the product line or do they like to change things? Need some help for the junk yard dog.

When you say flow pump, do you mean a wave maker or a return pump?

A wavemaker is something like a MP40. A return pump sits in your sump and sends water back to your display tank.

i just asked if anyone would trust Current USA , ok let see in chicago its a flow pump, in the rest of the world its a What wave pump, cool i vote face to face you loss. and yes we call it a return pump some might say sump pump but you guy's are perfect so thanks for the help.

Say what ....... ? Amazing Carnac says (taps forehead) trust 'em ..... :D

Current USA is a major company and not some fly by night operation. Over the last couple years they have been pushing their new LOOP ecosystem line of products and I haven't heard anything bad. Other than that, I have no idea what you are asking which is what other's have stated as well.

I’m trying to figure out what you’re talking about so I can give you some advice. We all use different terminology. Current USA is fine as a brand. They make middle of the road equipment generally.

some companies change the format on things and some don't, neptune has stayed the same . if a pump goes out (just saying) in 1 year , will still work with the rest of the setup or will i need to replace everything as far as power heads in my tank like i'm doing now. That's all no rocket science. I was just looking to see if reefer's liked or dislike current USA .

Thank you .

Is it the fan looking thing or the box looking pump?

Typically, large companies like Current USA tend to wait longer between model upgrades.

Oh, come on Hookster, cheer up.

I think the question TheEngineer posted was not only valid but also very simple; were you looking for a return pump or powerhead? Current USA makes both.

In my neck of woods, if you can call it that in NYC, when somebody says sump pump we are automatically talking about a sump pump in my basement that services anything that is drained below the city sewer.

That said, I went to Current's website and see that you were specifically referring to a DC "Flow" pump (return pump) as Current calls it.

Amazon has more than half a dozen negative reviews for the Current pump in question if that helps.

If your return pump goes out you just buy another one. All your pumps in your tank don't have to be the same brand. I think I have about 3 different brands in my tank as far as return and wavemakers go.

Thank you, My tank is not worth a neptune system or any high end equipment and I would just like to get replacement parts IF something like this happens again.

or get 2 smaller pumps and run in tandem.

Thanks , I like to ask hobbyist that know and/or have used something. Not all reviews are created equal.LOL

Then get a Eheim , Mag, Tunze, Fluval, or Sicce that has been around for decades without changing. DC pumps are all relatively new and that's why there are so many versions and feature upgrades. A Tunze AC pump tend to be pretty reliable and fairly priced. Getting replacement parts is typically pretty easy as their customer service is second to none.
