Hi guys - stupid question but I cannot figure it out….
The circulation pump eyelet on my Red Sea max nano what is the best place or direction to have that at??
I got a clownfish he’s been doing great but boy does he poop I did a water change and vacuumed the sand but whether I did a terrible job or what there’s still so much poop so I’m worried my flow is wrong and it’s not sending it to my filter
I’ll add pics below… yes there is particles floating in the water I’ve just been fiddling around with it for the last half hour and it’s just stirring up bits but I don’t think sending to the filters any advice appreciated

Yea I know it doesn’t that is why I’m asking for advice on what to do and what direction you guys face them in? I thought they had to be pointed up to create enough surface agitation but is there a better direction? I know I’ll have to get a wave maker for when I get coral in the future just wanted to know if the stock one on tank could be in a better place, or maybe I gota vacuum my sand more and do a better job

You might want to consider to add another powerhead, using only the pump for flow will have several dead spots. A powerhead pointed at the water surface to agitate the surface is ideal, use it to work with your pump to eliminate the dead flow spots.

No im asking if the eyelet is facing in a good direction for the tank…
I’m planning on getting a wave maker for my corals I never mentioned cheap or expensive that was an odd remark for you to make ?
I’m new to the hobby was fiddling around with this eyelet for the last half n hour was wondering if in a correct position so thought I was safe to ask that question?
I read on other posts where someone mentioned they had a lot of poop that flow could be an issue but I haven’t seen many posts about Red Sea nanos and what direction they set there’s too so I wanted advice on that…

I have a Red Sea Reefer Nano

I was cleaning it up to become an incoming frag tank.

But I scratched the glass all up. So I started to sand the scratches out. Even with PPE the airborne glass got in my pores. So it's dry

When I had it running, I never really cared where the outlets pointed, because I don't think it matters.

I had two IceCap gyres in it for flow

And a big turkey baster, I would blow the poop off stuff and the tank sand, into the water column. To get filtered out. My pump on that was 4 or 5 times what you have on yours, and didn't matter

My Red Sea Nano? I need to break it up and put in the trash.

If scratches bother you as much as they bother me, don't scratch it. Polishing the scratches out is stupid, don't do that.

So even with extra pumps you think the tank is trash? Or it’s just trash cause you’ve scratched it? I didn’t have the space for a bigger tank the max nano looked perfect for the house I’m in currently but I’m new to everything and just want to learn as much as I can along the way..
I have a big turkey baster too I blast the rocks with will look at some pumps at my lfs tomorrow
