I have a 40 gallon breeder with a single mp10 on it. My reef is mixed but I've been wondering if I would benefit from a second mp10 or is the one more than enough?

I think it will depend on what type of corals you are wanting to house? I know you said mixed but is it mainly sticks or jellys, montis?

While a single mp 10 might give enough flow, a second would add flexibility to reach all areas and some added randomness. I would add a second and turn them down if needed.

Awful expensive flow for a 40 breeder... just saying. There are alternatives for a fraction of the price.

If you upgrade to a larger tank those mp10s wont even stick.

If it helps, I had a 40 breeder with two MP10's on it and loved them. Put them in reef crest mode at 80% and all my corals loved it :)

It's a peninsula style tank and currently I have 2 mp10 in reef Crest mode on the end opposite the return. I'm not exactly sure what % they are running but fairly high. The reason I asked is I just got a second 40 breeder with a more traditional back mounted drain. I have plans of hooking them up so they both share my sump and skimmer. I was thinking about using one of my mp10 in each but will simply pickup new flow pumps for the additional tank. Picture of the current setup.
