Hi Guys and Gals, I just setup a AquaView 65 which is a 43 gallon all in one. The pump that the store suggested was a sicce syncra adv 5.5. It does 1450 gph. Well after I set everything up I think my flow is too high coming back from the sump. my Sand is blowing. I figure i can take it back and get the sicce syncra 3.5 which does 660 gph or the syncra 6 which is dc and variable but double the amount. I can also install a flow restricting valve or add a second return line and divert half the flow to the other side of the tank. The easiest would be the dc pump but I still have to got my skimmer and lights so I’m trying to be somewhat responsible before the wife realizes I’m already over budget. Thanks

I think you have some good ideas, but restricting the flow from the pump wouldn't be my first choice.

I like the idea of splitting the return and having multiple outputs in the tank from one pump.

of course, nothing beats a variable flow pump.

Thanks Dom, if I where to split the flow and get a variable pump. Would I still need a power head for corals? I believe the sicce syncra 6 has an app with a schedule so u can set different flow rate for different times of the day.
